Custom Order
Terms
Effective September 5, 2026
These terms explain the general process and expectations for custom work from Studio Boxeur Bois. The final approved estimate, invoice, or written project agreement may include additional project-specific terms.
Inquiries and Project Acceptance
Submitting an inquiry does not create a purchase agreement or require Studio Boxeur Bois to accept a project. A custom order begins only after the project details, price, payment requirements, and other applicable terms have been confirmed in writing.
Estimates and Design Approval
Estimates are based on the dimensions, materials, design, features, and timing discussed at the time they are prepared. Changes requested afterward may affect price and completion time. Before construction begins, the customer is responsible for reviewing and approving the stated specifications and promptly identifying any errors.
Natural Materials
Wood is a natural material. Grain, color, figure, mineral streaks, small checks, and other characteristics vary from piece to piece and may change over time. Samples and photographs illustrate general appearance but cannot guarantee an exact match. These natural variations are part of the character of handcrafted hardwood products and are not defects.
Deposits and Payment
Large or specially commissioned orders may require a deposit before materials are purchased or construction begins. Applicable deposit amounts, payment schedules, and accepted payment methods will be stated in the estimate or invoice. Work may be paused if a required payment is late.
Lead Times
Completion and delivery dates are good-faith estimates unless expressly guaranteed in writing. Material availability, design changes, workshop conditions, carrier delays, and other circumstances may affect timing. Studio Boxeur Bois will communicate material schedule changes when reasonably possible.
Changes and Cancellations
Requested changes are subject to approval and may result in additional charges or revised timing. Because custom work may involve materials purchased or prepared specifically for a customer, cancellation terms and any nonrefundable amounts will depend on the stage of the project and the written order documents.
Returns, Exchanges, and Refunds
Due to the highly customized nature of the work, custom products are not eligible for returns, exchanges, or refunds except where required by law or expressly agreed in writing. This does not limit any rights that cannot legally be waived.
Shipping and Delivery
Shipping costs are not included unless expressly stated in writing. The customer is responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address. Any visible shipping damage should be photographed, packaging should be retained, and Studio Boxeur Bois should be contacted promptly so that available carrier remedies can be evaluated.
Care and Use
Customers are responsible for following the care guidance supplied with the product and published on this website. Damage caused by dishwashers, soaking, excessive heat, improper storage, neglect, misuse, or failure to maintain the wood is not considered a workmanship defect.
Workmanship Concerns
If you believe a product has a workmanship issue, contact Studio Boxeur Bois with a description and photographs. We will review the circumstances and determine an appropriate remedy when warranted. Remedies may include guidance, repair, replacement, or another reasonable resolution, subject to applicable law and the specific order documents.
Website Content and Acceptable Use
Website text, original photographs, designs, graphics, and branding are owned by or licensed to Studio Boxeur Bois and may not be copied, republished, or commercially used without permission. You may use the website only for lawful purposes and may not interfere with its operation or attempt to misuse its forms or security features.
Limitations
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Studio Boxeur Bois is not responsible for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from use of the website or a product. Any liability relating to a custom order will not exceed the amount paid for the product giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes responsibility that cannot legally be excluded.
Order Documents and Changes
If these general terms conflict with a signed agreement, approved estimate, or invoice for a particular project, the project-specific document controls. These terms may be updated from time to time; the effective date above identifies the current website version.
